JDM cars are subject to mandatory regulations of the Japan Automotive Industry (JAMA). The top speed of cars produced after the late 1970s could not exceed 180 to 190km/h.
In 1988, it was stipulated that the engine should not exceed 280 horsepower. This series of regulations is more for safety reasons. The subsequent emergence of the runaway tribe has had an impact on these regulations.
Later, the horsepower limit was lifted in 2004. But the top speed limit has always affected the design and production of supercars. The speedometer of many JDM cars can only display up to 180km/h. Although these cars can run faster with a little modification.
