Ferdinand Porsche, the founder of the company, had already invented the electric wheel-case motor at the age of 24 (1899), and by the time of the International Exhibition in Paris the following year, he had already made a name for itself.

In the advertisement for the new car 911 there is this jingle: “In an age of superfluity and superficiality, of frivolity and coarseness, only the Porsche 911 is a true necessity, irreplaceable.
The history of this car dates back to 1900, when the first automobile to bear its name, the Lohner, made its official debut and created a sensation. The two-seater sports car was designed by Ferdinand Porsche (hereinafter referred to as “Big One”), who at the time was only twenty-five years old and was employed as a designer at the Lohner car factory.
